Walking tour
Only by walking the streets of Buenos Aires and relating their history to the country’s is how you will understand why Buenos Aires is so different from the rest of the country and even more, Latin America. We will show you the most important spots and neighbourhoods in the city (La Boca, San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo) and will take you back in time in order to grasp a bit of the Argentine lifestyle.
The tour starts in colourful La Boca. Then we will head on to San Telmo and Monserrat, the historical settlement of the city. It’s one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires and it’s surrounded by small stoned streets that resemble those of Europe’s main cities.
From there we will walk up Defensa St. to Plaza de Mayo, the heart of the country. You can tell what is going on in the country by looking at what happens in the square. From the Plaza, you see the government house (aka La Casa Rosada) the city’s Cathedral, the Cabildo, the municipality offices, the Obelisk and the National Congress.
We will walk down Avenida de Mayo where we will have the chance to see those building that were “designed by Argentines, copying the late 19th century French style, built by Italians and inhabited by Spaniards.” We will stop for a “café con leche” at El Tortoni, the first café in Buenos Aires. Then we will continue to the National Congress, where we end the tour.

Caminar las calles de Buenos Aires y relacionar su historia con la del país es una de las mejores formas de comprender por qué la ciudad es diferente del resto de las ciudades argentinas y latinoamericanas. Le mostraremos los sitios y barrios más importantes (La Boca, San Telmo, Plaza de Mayo) y recrearemos el pasado de modo de entender un poco del estilo de vida argentino.
El tour comienza en el colorido barrio de La Boca. Luego nos dirigiremos hacia San Telmo y Monserrat, el casco histórico de la ciudad. Es uno de los barrio más antiguo en Buenos Aires y está atravesado de calles empedradas que nos recuerdan a las principales capitales europeas.
Desde allí, por calle Defensa hacia Plaza de Mayo, el corazón de la ciudad. Uno puede percibir lo que sucede en el país con ver lo que ocurre en la plaza. Veremos los edificios importantes, como la Casa de Gobierno (Casa Rosada), la Catedral Metropolitana, el Cabildo, la Municipalidad, el Obelisco y el Congreso Nacional.
Caminaremos por Avenida de Mayo donde tendremos la oportunidad de ver esas edificaciones "diseñadas por argentinos, copiadas de los franceses, construídas por italianos y habitadas por españoles". Nos detendremos por un café con leche en Café Tortoni, el primer café de la ciudad y luego continuaremos hacia el Congreso Nacional, donde termina nuestro tour.
